Recology Ashland is thrilled to announce the artwork created through its innovative partnership with Southern Oregon University is now on display through mid-August.
In 2023, Recology partnered with SOU student artists to raise public awareness of environmental needs such as source reduction of waste, recycling, and resource conservation. The current installation marks the second year this residency has taken place and incorporates discarded materials collected by students at Recology’s Valley View Transfer Station.
Beginning May 17, the artists’ work will be featured at the temporary public sculpture garden near SOU’s Center for the Visual Arts and the CVA Galleries adjacent to the Schneider Museum of Art. The artwork is open for free public viewing and celebrates the community collaboration and innovative solutions of five student artists. The program is supported in part by Recology Ashland and the SOU Institute for Applied Sustainability Innovation Fund.
