Compost at the Yolo County Central Landfill

Ever wonder what happens to the food waste, food-soiled paper, and yard materials you place in your brown-lidded organics cart?

It’s transformed into a nutrient-rich soil amendment known as compost! Compost is available for purchase at the Yolo County Central Landfill Monday – Saturday from 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM and on Sunday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; no appointment is needed. You must bring your own shovel and bags.
