Jaime Blanco, Recology Butte Colusa Counties, Honorable Mention – Residential
Jaime serves customers in Oroville, Gridley, Durham, and Chico. He has worked as a refuse collection driver for 34 years, 28 of them at Recology. He drives a side-loader, driving 540 miles a week to service 3,000 customers.
Jaime has an extraordinary connection to the community he serves. More than 40 people wrote letters of recommendation supporting Jamie’s application for Driver of the Year.
“There were countless times while I was working at Recology and some very large accounts needed a driver to show up, and Jaime would do it,” says Jill Ortega, who worked as an account manager 17 years at Recology Butte Colusa Counties. “Even if it was not Jaime’s route or if he had to stay longer than expected, I could always count on him.”
When not working, Jaime helps lead his church’s youth group.
Congratulations, Jaime, and thank you for all that you do for your community!
