With glass I witness the blur(ing) of life and art. What began as an exploration of materials has morphed into an overwhelming and emotional experience. The landfill has given me the opportunity to observe the indispensable become dispensable. The remnants of whole lives being discarded really challenges ones sense of infallibility.
Re-imagined in a dark room, the experiences of strangers take on an ephemeral and ghostly quality. Bold gestures and elements of risk allow us to see ourselves reflected back by the images found.
The shadows of our former selves find new life when lit from within and glass reminds both the artist and viewer how transparent and fragile a moment can truly be.
