With storm season underway and severe weather causing significant impacts such as fallen trees and debris, we want to provide a few reminders and tips for you to manage your yard debris. Please note that you must be subscribed to Food & Yard Waste service to receive collection for your yard debris. Contact us today if you have questions about your services.
The following yard debris items are accepted in your Food & Yard Waste cart:
- Branches (under 4′ long, 4″ wide)
- Grass clippings
- Leaves, twigs
- Weeds
- Houseplants
- As a reminder, food scraps and foodsoiled/uncoated paper items are also accepted in your Food and Yard Waste cart
For extra material that does not fit in your yard waste cart, please do the following:
On your regular collection day, place your extra yard trimmings next to your bin a paper bag, bundled together with string, or stored in a Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) certified compostable bag in a size that does not exceed 4’x2′ max. Please do not exceed 192 gallons (2x 96 gallon containers equivalent) of material.
DO NOT place these items in your Food & Yard Waste cart:
- Stumps/limbs (over 4′ long, 4″ wide)
- Painted/treated wood, lumber, or fencing
- Coated paper items
- Glass, rocks, or soil
- Pet litter or diapers
- Animal or human waste
- Plastic or StyrofoamTM
- Metal or Foil
- Hazardous waste
