If you post to one of our social media channels or respond to or comment on our posts, you agree to adhere to the community guidelines listed below, which apply in addition to the Terms and Conditions provided by the social media platform itself. We ask all users to heed the following Community Guidelines:
1. Respect and Consideration
- Treat fellow community members with kindness and patience.
- Share your opinions and feedback in a respectful manner.
- Remember, we are often part of the same communities, and we are all here to share/learn information about resource recovery; recycling, composting, and waste collection services; and more.
2. Constructive Engagement
- Although you are able to provide constructive critiques and feedback concerning our business, this is not the best forum to do so. Please contact your local Recology customer service team if you wish for your questions or criticisms to be addressed promptly.
- Avoid off-topic, abusive, harassing, or profane comments, including (but not limited to) comments that are discriminatory, abusive, obscene, or otherwise offensive.
- Refrain from soliciting or promoting third-party sites, initiatives, or products.
3. Safety and Privacy
- Ensure the safety of the community by using appropriate privacy settings.
- Refrain from sharing private or personal information about individuals without their explicit consent.
- Do not share private or personal information unless you are comfortable with it being public information. Refer to our Privacy Policy for more details.
4. Compliance with Laws and Regulations
- Avoid false, misleading, deceptive, or defamatory statements, or any other statements that may violate laws or regulations.
- Respect intellectual property rights and refrain from sharing unauthorized content
5. Moderation and Response
- Although we monitor and respond to comments when necessary, we do not typically provide customer service through social media. If you have any questions/concerns that need to be addressed by Recology, please contact your local Recology customer service team for a prompt response.
- Be aware that comments not aligned with these guidelines may be removed, and users may be blocked or banned for any reason we deem appropriate.
6. Thoughtful Use of Tools
- Use social media tools thoughtfully and avoid misuse or spamming.
- Respect the terms of service and guidelines provided by the social media platforms
7. Zero Tolerance for Harmful Behavior
- Do not engage in hate speech, threats, or harassment of any variety.
- Protect the safety of all community members and avoid activities that detract from the intended audience.
- All comments that are inconsistent with these principles will be logged, removed, and reported if necessary.
8. Enforcement
- Our community guidelines will be enforced by Recology staff and the community.
- Violations may result in warnings, content removal, loss of privileges, or account removal.
