For large items that don’t fit or belong in your Recology carts, like old furniture, appliances, or mattresses, schedule a curbside Bulky Item Recycling pickup. This program does not accept hazardous waste, construction, and demolition debris, or auto parts and tires.

Residential Bulky Item Recycling (Curbside)

Residential customers (buildings with 5 units or less) receive two curbside Bulky Item Recycling collections per year at no additional charge, and each unit in a multi-family building (6 units or more) is eligible to receive one no-charge curbside collection. Once you’ve scheduled your pickup, please place your items next to the curb in front of your residence (take care not to block the sidewalk) and attach a sign that reads “RECOLOGY”.

You may leave up to 10 items per collection appointment. Please view the full list of accepted items. 

Cancelling a Bulky Item Pick Up

Cancellations must be given by 12 PM the business day before the scheduled Bucky Item Pick Up.

•  Call our customer service at 415.330.1300 or email us at customerservice@recologysf.com by 12 PM the business day prior to your schedule pick up. (Ex: If you are scheduled on a Monday, please call before noon on the previous Friday to cancel).
•  If you scheduled online via the Recollect application, there will be an option to cancel at the bottom of your confirmation email.
