Important Update for Recology King County Customers on Cyber Incident – Recology Customer Data Not Affected
In February 2021, we notified Recology King County customers about a ransomware attack on Automatic Funds Transfer Service (AFTS), the company that invoiced customers and collected payments for services provided by Recology. To perform these functions, AFTS formerly hosted personal information, including names, addresses, and credit card information on Recology customers.
We are pleased to report that, following a forensics investigation, AFTS has confirmed that Recology customer data was not acquired by the ransomware attacker.
While the security of Recology customer data has not been adversely affected by the attack, the incident had resulted in disruption of electronic payment options to our customers. As a result, Recology has selected Wells Fargo as our new payment provider. A one-time payment solution is available here. We look forward to launching additional features such as recurring payment and pay–by–phone options in the near future.

Customers may continue to submit payment through at-home banking, an option coordinated directly with personal banking institutions, not Recology.
Customers can also mail a physical check to Recology King County at the locations listed below. Regardless of your approach to payment, no late charges will be assessed.

Will I receive collection service if I can’t pay my bill?
Inability to pay during this time will not result in service interruptions or future late fees. Collection service will operate normally. Please continue to place bins out for collection.
