Construction and Demolition Debris

As buildings are constructed, remodeled or demolished, metal, wood, sheetrock, rigid plastic, and other construction materials can be recovered and made into recycled construction material.

Transfer Station

Our transfer stations serve as public drop-off locations for materials to be hauled and processed at nearby compost or recycling facilities. Depending on the facility, items may be sorted and then taken to their respective processing facilities based on material type. Transfer stations typically accept all sorts of recyclable materials. Please see the accepted items list or check with us before visiting to ensure acceptance of certain wastes.

This facility accepts yard debris for drop off and composting. Yard debris may consist of leaves, branches, twigs, soils, or plants.

Accepted Items (No Charge):

Recyclable items, such as:

  • Aluminum and tin cans
  • Cardboard
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Mixed paper
  • Plastic containers marked #1- #7
  • Cartons and aseptic packaging

Foamed polystyrene and packaging foam are not accepted as recycling.

Accepted Items (For A Fee):

  • Appliances and furniture
  • Brush and yard waste (not accepted in plastic bags
    or mixed in with garbage)
  • Construction and demolition debris – no dirt, rock,
    concrete, brick
  • Regular household garbage
  • Wood (untreated, unpainted only)

We do not accept household hazardous waste. For more information about household hazardous waste, please contact the Santa Clara County Household Hazardous Waste program.

We do not accept treated wood. For more information on how to discard treated wood waste (TWW), please visit the Land Disposal Program site for California landfills authorized by the Regional Water Quality Control Board to accept TWW.
